About the Early Childhood Outcomes Division
The Early Childhood Outcomes Division leads the delivery of the Early Years Childhood Education and Care reform program, including comprehensive investments in the critical first 5 years of life for every child ? in child development and in early education and care, making investments that support families and the community now, as well as investing in long term reforms for the future. Key initiatives will include supporting families with young children to access the services they need to support their own prosperity and wellbeing; valuing and growing the early childhood education and care sector and investing in early childhood teachers and educators.
About the role
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a solid background in research and evaluation to join the ECO?s Research and Evaluation team. You will undertake, lead and provide advice on specialist analysis, evaluation and research projects, to assess the impact of policy proposals, program and service design and delivery initiatives.
In this role, you will need to develop and maintain effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders to embed evaluation into the organisation. You will work with teams to ensure that they are evaluation ready and support organisational evaluation capacity building.

About you
As the Senior Evaluator, you will support the Manager, Research and Evaluation to undertake and lead specialist evaluation, research and analysis projects to assess the impact of policy proposals, program and service design and delivery initiatives.
To be successful, you will:
- Have tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or equivalent experience in a role in leading the evaluation, research, measurement, reporting and/or review of policy, strategy, portfolio, program or project outcomes
- Have end-to-end experience in designing, implementing and delivering evaluation
- Be a team player with strong knowledge and understanding of research and evaluation methodologies
- Be an effective communicator both written and verbally with high attention to detail
- Be able to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders to solve problems and deliver results

Essential requirements of the role
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or demonstrated equivalent knowledge and/or experience.
- Demonstrate understanding of and commitment to the value of public education
- Working with Children Check for paid employment
Key knowledge and experience
- Strong working knowledge of evaluation theory, practice and use, particularly as it relates to data analysis and decision making preferably in public sector organisation
- Knowledge of, and commitment to implementing the Department?s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department?s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
