Our 3-2-1 Hybrid Working model:
- 3 days from anywhere in Australia or Aotearoa New Zealand per week,
- 2 days from an RACP office location per week,

Job Description
About the Role
The position is in the Education Learning and Assessment Directorate, which is responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of RACP training programs across the Divisions, Chapters and Faculties of the College.
The purpose of the Research & Evaluation Senior Specialist is to provide methodological leadership and consultation on projects conducted as part of the education renewal research and evaluation strategy and in doing so, actively develop and improve products, procedures and processes and translate findings into actionable opportunities for program improvements for Education, Learning and Assessment.
Please note: This role is a 3-month fixed-term contract.
Key Accountabilities
- Design and undertake qualitative and quantitative research and evaluation in key areas of specialist medical education to provide an evidence-base to use in improving RACP's activities. This may include;
- Research relevant best practice to inform initiatives and provide support for Members of the College * Provide support and consultation to College-wide research and evaluation projects.
- Build research and evaluation capacity within Education, Learning and Assessment.
- Lead, plan and manage the work for the Research Assistant/early career Research Officer to ensure efficient and effective team and individual performance.
- Collaborate with other units, within Education Learning and Assessment and across the RACP on projects that contribute to the quality and innovation of physician training
- Contribute towards external and internal publications and presentations to support and promote RACP activity. Manage projects and operations in accordance with RACP frameworks
- Promote the standards set out in the RACP Values and Behaviour statements.
Essential Attributes
- Bachelor degree level qualification in a relevant field
- Demonstrated experience in research and program evaluation design and data analysis
- Demonstrated experience in project management and coordination
- Demonstrated strong leadership skills with experience leading a team to deliver outcomes in a complex environment and with tight time-frames
- Extensive knowledge of research methods, evaluation principles and approaches
- Experience in research projects related to education
- Proficiency in statistics and statistical applications
- Tact and sensitivity to confidential issues
- Substantial experience of managing stakeholders and evaluating feedback
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
