The AEC's focus is on electoral integrity through the values of quality, agility and professionalism.The TeamThe AEC’s Property portfolio contains a large and diverse footprint to support a nationally dispersed network and agile workforce, and where the portfolio expands and contracts to meet our operation needs on both long- and short-term basis.The Event Workplace Team is responsible for supporting election activities through the establishment of OPC’s (Outposted Centres). This includes management of existing OPC leases, sourcing and establishing new OPC’s for upcoming federal events and the provision of facility management services and associated infrastructure, working with our outsource property providers.The OpportunityReporting to the Assistant Director, you will be responsible for assisting with the sourcing of new leases and the ongoing facilities management of these properties for a major national rollout. This activity will be led by Ventia/Colliers, the AEC’s outsourced property provider.The role is responsible for undertaking work that is complex and sensitive in nature, under limited direction, utilising expertise, and knowledge within the area of Property Management and planning, facilities, procurement and contract management activities in relation to the agency property portfolio.While National Office is based in Canberra, we have flexible working arrangements and are happy to accept applications from anywhere in Australia.To excel you'll have:
- Demonstrated experience within property and an ability to project manage the sourcing and establishment of new sites for the AEC.
- Ability to assimilate, organise and concisely present large quantities of information in a time critical manner.
- Understanding of commercial property within the federal government.
- Sound judgement and demonstrated ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively whilst anticipating stakeholder needs and expectations across a geographically dispersed network.
- Demonstrated personal integrity whilst achieving results within legislative and policy parameters.
- AEC employees must be Australian citizens.
