Marine Rescue Queensland (MRQ) is a marine emergency service dedicated to protecting the safety of the Queensland boating community. Marine Rescue Queensland, established in 2024 is Queensland’s first single integrated state-wide service, serving the state’s coastline and waterways. In this role you will be part of the newly established Marine Rescue Queensland Unit and support work associated with the blue water rescue capability, dedicated to protecting Queenslanders in our oceans and waterways.
The core capability requirements for this role are:
- Monitor, research, analyse and provide advice on the development and implementation of strategic and operational performance to enable continuous organisational improvement, including managing outcomes
- Research, develop, implement and evaluate appropriate strategies, plans, policies and procedures that support corporate and operational activities towards organisational development and to effectively meet day-to-day service delivery demands
- Compose, critically review and edit ministerial correspondence, briefing notes, submissions and other documentation for approval by the Executive Director
- Coordinate the flow of correspondence and documents, from internal and external stakeholders at all levels, to meet necessary deadlines
- Work proactively and collaboratively with team members to maximise the efficiency and effectiveness of systems, procedures and workflows operating within the office of the Executive Director
- Where required, plan, coordinate, undertake and evaluate organisational improvement activities including staff performance, development and resources
- Prepare reports and present submissions on behalf of the Executive Director on performance management, organisational improvement, and community engagement strategies
- Support the Executive Director to meet management responsibilities associated with their portfolio
