An emerging exploration and drilling company funded by NQM Gold 2 Pty Ltd, an Australian gold explorer, developer, and producer since 2009. Auspin has a proven technical team currently based in Pajingo Gold Mine continuously adding new ounces for the mine, apart from the technical capability, Auspin’s drilling division is led by a highly experienced team, currently it has 3 exploration rigs at Pajingo Mine.
Located southwest of Townsville, the Pajingo mine is around 50km from Charters Towers and employs approximately 250 people to run the underground mining, open cut, and ore processing operations. Charters Towers is close to Townsville and the beauty of the Great Barrier Reef, and it offers all the facilities you would expect in a large regional town.
The role is residential/DIDO or FIFO from the East Coast based in Charters Towers working an 8/6 or 12/9 roster.
About you:
- Tertiary Qualification in Geology
- Minimum 7 years of exploration experience
- Experience in narrow gold systems
- Resource Definition experience, both surface and underground.
- Knowledge of geostatistical/sampling methodology and QAQC skills
- Competence in Leapfrog and Micromine - desirable.
- Strong technical reporting skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Australian working rights
- Has Professional Organisation Membership (AIG or AusIMM)
- Australian Manual Driver License
About the role:
As the Senior Exploration Geologist, you will be reporting to Exploration Manager at Pajingo Gold Mine and primarily responsible for the coordination of technical and geological activities, ensuring all quality assurance and quality control measures are applied to the collection, collation, interpretation and reporting of geological information for exploration programs.
- Ensure the Exploration team always operate in a safe and sustainable manner.
- Lead, guide and mentor Exploration Geologists.
- Contribute to the discovery and delineation of new mineral resources.
- Develop, manage, and implement exploration programs, both underground and surface.
- Interpret and validate geological, geochemical, and geophysical data to establish geological models to assist in target generation.
- Monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
- Contractor management.
- Minimise company risk exposure and liabilities by monitoring activities to ensure compliance with all statutory, regulatory, and licensing requirements.
- Establishes and maintains strong relationships with relevant stakeholders.
- Identify and drive opportunities for continuous improvement in the operation.
