The Senior Finance and HR Officer will coordinate and provide financial management services to the Policy and Cabinet Division including processing of Accounts Payable and Receivables invoices, appropriation drawdown requests, journals, credit card acquittals, end of month processing and reporting, variance analysis, project summaries and assist with financial reporting. They will also provide Human Resources advice and support to the division as required. Eligibility/ Other Requirements: The following capabilities form the criteria that are required to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. Professional / Technical Skills and Knowledge A high level understanding of the principles of accrual accounting and financial management frameworks particularly in relation to internal budgets. Demonstrated financial skills, particularly with Accounts Payable and Receivables, journal preparation, month end reconciliations and an ability to interpret and analyse financial data. Demonstrated understanding of ACT Government payroll processing, salary recoveries and salary reporting. The occupant will be an effective problem-solver, utilising analytical, negotiation and communications skills of a high order to facilitate efficient problem solving and service deliver.
