ABOUT THE ROLE
Barker College is currently seeking an experience Senior Finance Business Partner based at our Hornsby campus.
This will be a Permanent Full-Time role commencing 3 June 2024, or earlier as negotiated.
The role of the Senior Finance Business Partner sits within the Finance Department and is responsible for creating a trusted partnership between Finance and both Operational and Educational Departments, helping to deliver a seamless Finance function to the School. The role reports to the Finance Manager and works closely with all members of the Finance team and Operational and Educational Departments.
This role is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and qualified Accountant/Business Partner to join our team. Key deliverables include:
- Preparation of the monthly management reporting pack including operating KPIs
- First review of Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet
- Business partner with Department Heads to ensure they understand their financial results through the monthly reporting of all Cost Centre P&Ls; respond to any business enquiries
- Provision of insightful analysis, including monthly analysis on various income and expense categories, and recommendations to drive informed decision making at all levels of the School
- Liaise and assist all Department Heads with the preparation of their annual budget, consolidating these budgets into the School budget
- Preparation of quarterly forecasts including detailed bottom-up calculations
- Report regularly on all current system projects to the organisation; log, manage and resolve all user problems with the system
- Identify, analyse and resolve monthly reporting issues
- Completion of weekly cash flow forecasts and monitor cash and debt balances
- Completion of long range debt forecasting
- Balance sheet reconciliation preparation and review as assigned
- Preparation of accurate and timely analytical data as requested
- Assist with the regular review of internal controls, policies, and procedures, and identify areas for process improvements and efficiencies, implementing ideas that have been approved.
- Provide support to the Finance Department and work collaboratively with all members of staff.
Skills and knowledge essential to the job:
- Minimum 8-10 years previous experience in Accounting roles are a must.
- Relevant academic qualifications in Accounting, Commerce or Business
- Post qualification minimum of CA or CPA
- Strong excel and business intelligence reporting capability
- Work experience in a similar environment is preferred although not essential
