About Stopping Family Violence
Stopping Family Violence (SFV) is a not-for-profit, focused on stopping violence against women and children through fostering relationships, advocacy, policy, research, and training. Advancing and promoting best practice in perpetrator responses for the safety of victim-survivors as the peak body in Western Australia.
About the Role
The Senior Finance Officer Role is the primary role for accounts functions at this small not-for-profit organisation. You will be an integral part of the team supporting the financial management day to day including accounts processing, payroll and salary packaging, financial reporting, managing project expenditure and independent financial audits.
The role is available part time at 2 to 3 days per week (paid pro-rata) on a contract for 12 months. The role is offered at SCHADS award level 5 between $47 to $50 per hour dependent on experience. Located at our Victoria Park office, the days and hours are negotiable, however a Monday every fortnight is required for payroll processing. Salary packaging up to $15,900 is available.
Key Duties
- Responsible for accounts receivable and accounts payable
- Management and tracking of grant expenditure and reporting
- Arranging independent audits and working with third parties to meet requirements
- Liaise with our Accountant to ensure BAS deadlines and organisation reporting requirements
- Track expenditure and provide financial reports to management
- Complete staff payroll, salary packaging and reimbursements
- Invoice reconciliation and payments
- Review and manage all financial reporting deadlines
- Prepare concise financial reports of activities on projects
- Managing financial administrative tasks, such as document and information distribution
- Track and management reporting deadlines with internal and external stakeholders

Selection Criteria
- Formal tertiary qualification in business, accounts, finance or HR with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role or significant relevant experience in finance of more than 5 years with relevant training (required)
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with working with Xero (required)
- An understanding of community services and not-for-profits (highly desirable).
