AddressWe have a new opportunity for a SeniorPayroll Officer to join The Good Grocer's support team.
Working in the Group's Finance team and reporting to the Group's Financial Controller this role is responsible for the end to end fortnightly payroll process.
We are looking for someone with an “Of Course Attitude” who is able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, can think on their feet, and who can use their logic to solve problems. This role would suit a person quick to learn new systems and processes, and who understands the urgency that can arise unexpectedly in such a busy environment.
The position is a permanent full-time role working Monday to Friday office hours based at our stunning Good Grocer Support Office in Applecross.

Skills required
- Experienced Payroll Officer within a medium/large organisation
- Demonstrated knowledge of payroll systems and processes including PAYG, Superannuation, Payroll Tax and legislative requirements
- Sound knowledge of awards and agreements
- High attention to detail and level of accuracy while working in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Experience using HR3 and Humanforce is desirable though not essential
- Intermediate to Advanced computer software skills including Word, Excel and other database applications
- A self-motivated and pro-active reliable team player
Key Responsibilities
- To manage the fortnightly payroll service end-to-end for approximately 1,000 Team Members, upholding compliance with the legislative and statutory requirements relating to all payments
- Interpret employment terms and conditions including pay rates, superannuation, allowances, loadings etc. in accordance with awards/agreements and contracts
- Be the first point of contact for employees with payroll related enquiries
- Manage varying payroll calculations in relation to terminations, redundancies, entitlements, and deductions, and completing necessary compliance documentation
- Upload and maintain employee details, including setting up new Team Members
- Administration and monthly payroll reconciliations (e.g. leave credits and accruals, superannuation, PAYG, Payroll Tax) to ensure that the information and reconciles to the system
- Manage payroll system including payroll policy, processes and forms
- Provide monthly reporting to the leadership team
