About the opportunity:
Reporting to the Group Chief Financial Officer, and working closely with the CEO SVVH, your primary focus will be to ensure the ongoing commercial viability, financial performance and financial governance of SVVH. You will lead the finance function and provide financial strategic and operational insights for decision making.
Key duties include but not limited to:
- Managing and improving SVVH financial performance.
- Lead the accounting and commercial modelling operations to ensure financial performance is optimised and accurate financial information is available and consistent with statutory and regulatory financial compliance requirements.
- Lead the day-to-day operation of the financial control function ensuring a culture of continual business improvement and customer centricity is instilled whilst being a key contributor to the leadership of SVVH.
- Support the SVVH team by providing timely and accurate financial information to assist with strategic decision making, and with aligning the finance business plan and team to enable SVVH strategy
- Interface with other SVHA functions to ensure adequate oversight of the general ledger, accounting systems including end to end financial transaction processes and system
- Dashboard and monitor the overall financial performance of SVVH and its programs against budget plans and key performance criteria, including revenue, cost and margins. Present thought through commentary and key insights.
- Ensure periodic forecasts are prepared, updated and communicated accordingly.
- Review competitor business models and financial results (where available) and interpret any key learnings for SVVH.
- Establish and run a performance forum whereby key insights influencing performance can be understood, discussed and decisions made.
- Contribute to (and lead) the annual budget process, including development of budget strategy, operational performance criteria and financial parameters.
- Perform financial modelling and sensitivity analysis for new business proposals, tender submissions, organisation changes and other key business initiatives such as acquisitions or divestments.
- Preparation and validation of the monthly management accounts to SVVH teams and SVHA in a timely and accurate manner
- Oversee Capital Expenditure programs.
- Monitoring of working capital levels and capital commitments to ensure SVVHH maintains level of cash and investments as set by the Board
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Commerce.
- Post-graduate qualifications in finance or business administration highly desirable.
- Membership of relevant professional (accounting) association.
- Extensive experience in providing performance analysis and reporting support to a senior leadership team.
- Demonstrated ability to engage and influence stakeholders effectively across business divisions and build consensus where required
- High levels of self-motivation, drive and initiative and tolerance for ambiguity
- High level computer literacy particularly in the use of Microsoft Excel and Accounting Systems (D365 experience highly preferred)
