Our Financial Control team is responsible for Financial Reporting & Project Accounting, Financial Governance, Finance Operations and Finance Systems. While their role may not be member-facing, their contribution is vital to ensuring we meet all our ongoing reporting, regulatory, governance and operational requirements.

The role

This critical role will see you responsible for overseeing the banking, accounts payable and reconciliation functions to ensure accurate and timely processing and accounting of transactions, as well as the integrity of data in general ledger.

A key part of this role will also be driving change and process improvements to ensure our processes are more automated whilst also maintaining transparency and auditability. Working closely with the extended team you will also

  • Be the first escalation point for all accounts payable and expenses related enquiries and matters
  • Review the daily and weekly expense payables run, daily bank reconciliation of non-fund transactional bank account and audit of corporate card and staff reimbursement expenses
  • Perform month-end activities such as reconciliation of accounts payable and expenses related balance sheet accounts, prepare journals and review accounting of corporate card expenses

About you

We are looking for someone with a process improvement mindset who will challenge the status quo. You will possess natural leadership qualities and enjoy reviewing the work of your team, whilst also working hands on across the monthly accounting cycle. In this high-volume transactional role, you will need to be able to demonstrate strong

  • Accounts payable, receivable and general accounting experience in Financial Services industry preferred
  • Accounting skills, with advanced reconciliation, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Spreadsheeting skills (Excel).
  • Written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to communicate and influence effectively at all levels both internally and externally.
  • CA or CPA qualified
