About the Departmentfor Correctional Services The Department employsapproximately 2,000 staff and has responsibility for nine prisonsand fifteen Community Correctional offices across the state. Ourvision is for a safer community by protecting the public andreducing re-offending. Duties Accountable to the Manager,Freedom of Information, the Senior FOI Officer is
responsiblefor: Processing Freedom ofInformation (FOI) applications, including Internal
Reviews andExternal Reviews, in accordance with the Freedom of
InformationAct 1991. Supervising staff in theprocessing of Release of Information (ROI) and
Freedom ofInformation (FOI) requests consistent with legislative
requirements. Providing advice to arange of stakeholders including departmental staff in
relation toROI and FOI matters. Undertaking research,project and policy work in relation to ROI and FOI
relatedmatters. SpecialConditions Some outof hours work may be required. Acurrent South Australian Drivers Licence isessential. Entry tosecure facilities (eg prisons) and contact with prisoners andcommunity based offenders is required. Someintra and interstate travel may be required which maynecessitate overnight stays. Theincumbent is required to satisfactorily complete a NationalCriminal History Check.
