SalaryBoston Management Services manages a world class heritage listed cool climate garden estate in Mt Wilson. The Estate offers short term rental accommodation and small events. The Estate employs a small team of staff who maintain the property.
An opportunity exists for a Senior Gardener with general garden hand, nursery work, farm hand or similar background experience to manage hands on property in Blue Mountains area. The candidate will have at least 10 years’ experience in similar industry, with a sound knowledge and management of turf, plants, trees, be able to identify and manage pests and diseases. Experience with landscape construction including paving works, retaining walls, irrigation system and drainage is also required.
Main duties include management of seasonal and routine garden maintenance work such as pruning, weeding, lawn mowing, hedging, whipper snipper etc. Experience with general farm and garden machinery and basic plumbing and irrigation systems would be desirable. Includes use of chainsaws, ride on mowers, push mowers, basic irrigation repairs, excavator, tractors etc. Management of small team of staff on site.
The role also includes management of small events and short term rental accommodation, attending to repairs and maintenance as required and liaising with contractors such as electricians to attend as required.
Work hours are Monday to Friday 7.00am to 4.00pm. You will need own transport. Opportunity for overtime. if interested please provide resume for further discussion.
