We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Government Relations Specialist at our Perth CBD Office on a Full-Time permanent basis.
About this role
As Senior Government Relations Specialist, you will work with the Government Relations team and senior leaders to navigate a changing policy landscape, build external relationships and advocate on behalf of Western Power.
Key responsibilities include:
- Cultivating and maintaining relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including government officials, industry associations, and advocacy organisations.
- Monitoring and analysing political, legislative, and regulatory developments that may impact Western Power and make recommendations to senior leaders.
- Preparing high quality, evidence-based submissions, briefing papers, and other documentation on key policy issues.
- Providing Government Relations and advocacy advice to senior leaders regarding issues impacting the organisation.
- Collaborating with the media team to promote Western Power.
- Representing Western Power at external engagements.
About you
We are seeking someone with experience and attributes that include:
- A tertiary qualification in public / social policy, politics, management or business-related discipline.
- Broad and extensive knowledge and expertise in managing external relations with individuals and organisations in similar businesses.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills that enable effective interaction between key stakeholders.
- Experience working in State or Federal parliamentary, political systems and processes.
