We currently have one Permanent, Full Time Vacancy available for immediate filling.

A Pool will also run for a period of 18 months.

About the role

The Senior Human Resource Officer contributes to a wide range of Human Resource activities, including strategic workforce planning and organisational development activities. The role is to provide a Human Resource (HR) consultancy and advisory service to WA Museum management and staff. 

About you

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual who has exceptional attention to detail for a fast-paced and diverse role.

The successful applicant will be expected to:

  • Provide a contemporary and customer-focused consultancy service to managers and staff on HR matters, including recruitment and selection, classification determination and establishment, redeployment, learning and development, and reporting.
  • Assist in the development and review of HR-related policies and procedures in accordance with Industrial Awards and Agreements, and relevant legislation.
  • Monitor and maintain records (and provide advice, where necessary) on specific HR-related matters including, Secondary Employment declarations, conflict of interest, Working with Children, work placements and other areas, as required.
  • Administer the online Learning Management System (GO1), and ensure the currency of learning modules and programs that meet the needs of the organisation.
  • Assist in the coordination of the HR Intranet page (Pulse), ensuring information is current and accurate.
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring Human Resource-related projects.
  • Provide customer-focused advice and support to employees on HR systems.
  • Produce regular and ad-hoc reports to stakeholders to deliver information to meet HR reporting requirements, including the addressing of trends, issues, capability, and resourcing gaps.

Eligibility to Apply

Pool Recruitment

This Pool will be open for a period of 18 months, from the day after the breach of standard claim period closes. Permanent, fixed-term, full-time and part-time appointments may be offered as vacancies arise; however, an appointment is not guaranteed.

Applicants found suitable in this Pool, may be considered for subsequent, similar vacancies with the Western Australian Museum and the Department of Local Government, Sport, and Cultural Industries (DLGSC) for the duration of the Pool.
