Senior Information & Communication Technology (ICT) Support Technician

Your new role:

In the role of Senior Information &Communication Technology (ICT) Support Technician you will be responsible for supporting the dailyoperations of the organisation. As a senior technician, the role will oversee thedelivery of IT projects, provide mentoring and support to Level 1 supporttechnicians, and assist the Information Technology (IT) Coordinator and membersof Council’s ICT team to implement changes and documentation.

Theposition will be responsible for:

• Provide Level 2 helpdesk support and Level 1 escalation where required, utilising ITIL Framework best practices to ensure services are reliable, robust, effective, and efficient.
• Assist the IT Coordinator to develop and implement ICT plans and strategies to meet business needs.
• Assist the IT Coordinator in managing key systems and security projects.
• Develop and maintain technical system and user documentation.
• Provide professional, current, and relevant advice and information to customers.
• Maintenance and support of Council’s IT infrastructure including, but not limited to, server, storage, network, communications, security, backup, disaster recovery and CCTV environments.
• Installation of hardware and software as required.
• Provide afterhours support for Council meetings and staff members on a rotating basis with other IT support staff.
• Attend to out-of-hours call outs in accordance with the on-call rostering arrangements.
• Other duties as requested by the Manager Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Services.

What you will need to succeed:

The successfulapplicant will have:

• Tertiary qualifications and/or industrycertificates relevant to the role.
• Three (3) to five (5) years demonstratedwork experience relevant to the role;
• Highly developed communication, interpersonaland administrative skills; and
• An ability to work effectively within ateam and independently to meet deadlines is essential.
