About the opportunity

We are searching for a high performing Senior Infrastructure Engineer for one of our existing clients. You will used your specialist knowledge of virtualisation, storage, cloud, user services, security, networks and Infrastructure to provide expert advice on the management and maintenance of those platforms.

• Senior Role
• Experience in Federal Government ICT infrastructure is highly regarded.
• Long term contracts on offer
• NV1 Clearance required

Tasks and responsibilities

Major responsibilities will include: 

• Assist with the planning and delivery of infrastructure modernisation project activities in line with the clients ICT strategy
• Support a variety of Windows Servers, SQL Servers, backup tools, support tools and virtual infrastructure
• Automate Support Tasks using PowerShell, System Centre Configuration Manager and other automation tools
• Assist with the integration of cloud services
• Operate in an environment compliant with the ACSC Information Security Manual (ISM)
• Provide support and assist the CIO, the Infrastructure team and Architecture with infrastructure technology decision making
• Work with limited oversight as part of a small multidisciplinary team
• Provide technical support to resolve incidents and service requests effectively, promptly and courteously
• Develop documentation such as standard operating procedures and technical design documents, assist in documentation and advise on procurement matters
• Provide a client focus in delivery of work priorities and assist other resources to complete projects and tasks effectively
• Identify opportunities to improve ICT processes and procedures

• Agile & ITIL frameworks
• DBA / DevOps (desirable)
• Dell Apex Backup Services
• ClearSwift Secure Email Gateway
• Exchange Online (hybrid)
• Fortinet products (FortiGate, FortiClient)
• Jira Core
• Linux server administration (RHEL 7/8/9)
• Microsoft 365 (Office 365 Apps for Enterprise, Intune, OneDrive, SharePoint Online, Defender ATP)
• Monitoring solutions (Prometheus, Grafana, WhatsUpGold)
• Teams Phone & Operator Connect
• SOE development / application packaging (Intune / SCCM)
• Splunk Cloud (including Splunk ES, Splunk ITSI - desirable)
• Virtualisation technologies (VMware ESXi, vCenter, VDI)
