The position of Senior Infrastructure Pipeline Lead will work closely with the Manager City Infrastructure Planning to lead development and ongoing improvement/maintenance of the Capital Works Projects and Programs, to achieve a reliable long term infrastructure program that sustainably meets the needs of our growing community.The Senior Lead position assumes a pivotal role in the planning of long-term transportation and social infrastructure to accommodate the continuous population growth. This includes coordinating with developers and State Government to ensure the timely provision of necessary infrastructure, ultimately fostering well-connected and sustainable communities.You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to build, foster and maintain positive working relationships including the capacity to resolve and negotiate conflicts in a timely manner with all stakeholders.We are seeking highly experienced candidates that can provide inspirational leadership for a very diverse team with the energy and passion to deliver quality outcomes for Council and our community.Key ResponsibilitiesThis position will be responsible for:
- Coordinating the development and ongoing improvement/maintenance of the long-term capital works projects and programs, to achieve a reliable program that sustainably meets the needs of our growing community and to ensure smooth implementation and execution of infrastructure projects by the organisation.
- Coordinating all land acquisition activities within growth areas to support the long-term infrastructure plan.
- Coordinating with State Government agencies and utility supply companies with regards to the provision of state infrastructure and regional transmission services, including but not limited to level crossings, major roads and rail projects, schools and kindergartens, drainage, gas, electricity, sewer, water and telecommunications and understand service delivery impacts on Council/Developer lead projects.
- Fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the team, encouraging innovative thinking and identifying opportunities for enhancing operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Actively participating in the strategic leadership of the City Infrastructure Planning Department and Council by contributing valuable insights and expertise as a member of the leadership team. Collaborate with other leaders to shape and execute the department's strategic initiatives, aligning them with the overall goals and vision of the Council.
- Tertiary qualification in engineering, project management, strategy, business management or a relevant discipline with further formal qualification in the field of expertise with extensive experience in the planning of infrastructure to service a population growth.
- Extensive experience in the development and interpretation of strategies and programs the direct policy and decision making
- Substantial experience working with the Growth Area Planning processes.
