We are a close knit team who use data to develop and enhance the Group’s fraud and scam reports and dashboards
Together we will develop insights on fraud and scam trends to quantify their impacts on customer loss and the bank’s financial and operational performance

The Fraud Data Analytics team, part of the Chief Data and Analytics Office, maintains the fraud detection and reporting functions for the Group. Our team supports the operations of Group Fraud Management Services who are devoted to protecting the monetary assets from fraud and financial loss of CBA and Bankwest customers.

Fraud Analytics is responsible with defining and execution of robust Fraud Analytics procedures for the Group.

Our analytics run on Australia’s largest real-time transaction monitoring system, handling millions of transactions per day.
On a day-to-day basis, you will:
Build new dashboards to provide analytical insights to the organisation’s decision-making processes.
Maintain existing business insights tools and reports.
Develop reports using the various tools such as SAS visual analytics, Tableau, Microsoft Office.
Develop interactive dashboards, reporting and visualisations, to provide insights and make recommendations.
Build and maintain internal reporting dataset and platforms to assist with analysis and take accountability to become an expert in product systems and processes
Provide insights into trends and anomalies - including root cause analysis.
Build effective working relationships with stakeholders.
Manage potentially difficult interactions ensuring the appropriate priority level is assigned.

Proven experience working with SAS and SQL to extract and manipulate data from complex datasets.
Experience working with Tableau.
An analytical mindset with the ability to solve problems in a creative way.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with business stakeholders to resolve issues.
Ability and willingness to work unsupervised and under challenging deadlines.
Proven stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage and influence non-technical stakeholders
Experience in working in a Fraud or Risk Analytics environment within financial services would be highly advantageous.
Tertiary qualified in a numerate, engineering and/or IT based disciplines such as Actuarial science, applied mathematics, Statistics, Computing Science, Data Science.
