Data & Analytics is a critical part of achieving this ambition, and this role is part of Channel & Customer Insights Tribe, within the Customer Success Business Unit. In this role, you will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with all other Business Units including Marketing & Revenue, Digital, Networks, Strategy, and IT.
Your day in the life of a Senior Insights Analyst at Optus
- Amas large and sophisticated data sets from various sources, as well as analyse and prepare for analysis, and using accurate and advanced analytical techniques (such as regression, cluster, time series, decision trees and survival analysis) in order to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can influence business recommendations.
- Design visually appealing and easy-to-use reports and dashboards that provide business partners with up-to-date information on key performance indicators, and help to communicate complex data concepts and insights to non-technical business partners in an accessible and actionable manner.
- Provide mentorship and training to a wider team on data-related topics, helping to build their understanding of data and its role in driving business success, as well as establish and manage relationships with key business partners, ensuring that they're engaged and educated about data-related initiatives and their impact on business outcomes.
- Actively identify areas for improvement in data collection, analysis, and reporting processes, by staying up to date with industry trends and new technologies, plus be involved in project planning and implementation, ensuring that data and insights are integrated into key business initiatives to drive success.
- Tertiary qualifications in a STEM field (e.g. Mathematics, Computer Science, Finance, Engineering, Statistics) with hands-on experience in data analysis and insights.
- Expertise in data visualisation tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or QlikView, together with knowledge of data warehousing, ETL processes, and data governance.
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases, big data platforms, and cloud-based data storage solutions, underpinned by grasp of data privacy and security.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, experience with story-telling, project management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively, and with the purpose to recognise and recommend solutions to sophisticated data-related issues.
