Our clients are an Asset Management and Property Development firm based in Sydney CBD and service across the Asia Pacific Region. Their property platform comprises of in-house property development, architecture, design, finance and delivery expertise, combined with long term asset strategy and management that span geographies across the region. They make meaningful contributions to both private and institutional investors.
This role will be reporting to the CEO and primary purpose of the CFO is to manage the accounting, administration and other operational aspects of the business from a senior management level and to assist the Directors to build the group.
This is the ideal role for a Financial Controller looking to take their next step into a CFO role or an experienced CFO looking for their next challenge.
Responsibilities:
- Complete a detailed and ongoing review of current P/L and B/S – expenses/revenues/assets/liabilities – look at revenue recognition method and departmental review, including costs and overheads review and management
- Refine monthly reporting timetable including capturing all the deadlines which will provide clarity for all stakeholders and when the monthly financials will be ready for director review
- Implement and advance monthly cashflow reporting for director review across the group
- Develop a 3-5 year strategic plan that feeds into a formal budget process
- Prepare financial modelling of feasibilities
- Review current banking arrangements does it meet the needs of the business or do we have to many accounts/flexibility
- Review internal controls; accounts payable process, approvals/authorisation levels and sign off/resourcing
- Profitability reviews for new business pre deal and post review – did we hit our targeted margin, what were our lessons learned post review which are vital before going into the next deal
- HR – performance reviews/contracts/security of information
- 5 + Years experience in a financial controller position or CFO level role
- Experience in professional services or financial services preferred
- CPA/CA qualifications are highly regarded
- Must have experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 – Business Central and Xero
- Ability to work within a fast-changing environment
