Senior IT Project Manager
How will I help?
The Senior IT Project Manager is responsible for leading and managing project activities that deliver technology solutions, enabling Westpac to achieve its strategic goals, business benefits and outcomes. Application changes / Delivery experience is a must.
Your key accountabilities will include:
- Leading technology delivery that span across all enterprise systems including but not limited to: Financial Crime Systems, Digital, Customer originations, Digital, Staff Assisted, Product Originations, Group Data Platforms, Group Customer Master etc.
- Driving the technical design, build and implementation of the technical solution.
- Production project plans to determine time frames, funding, procedures for accomplishing projects, staffing requirements, and allotment of available departmental resources to various phases of each project, in accordance with the bank’s Technology Software Engineering Life Cycle
- Release Management – Manage the technical implementation activities that span cross multiple applications and business divisions, to deploy changes into a technology controlled environment. Ensures that changes are made without negative impact to the current technology environment
- Providing ongoing Technology Project Management mentoring and coaching support to assist implementation of Projects, work closely with project sponsors, product/platform managers, and other relevant team members to increase knowledge and elevate performance through one-on-one coaching
- Recommending and overseeing process improvements
What do I need?
You will be an experienced IT Project Manager, preferably in banking & financial services, and have a strong understanding of the overall project lifecycle and be able to lead, design, build, test and implement phases. You will have agile delivery experience and a good understanding of applications landscape in a complex organisation. In addition, you will also have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline
- Application delivery experience, ideally in digital, customer and financial crime systems
- Demonstrated experience in technology project delivery preferably in a consultancy
- Skills in IT project management, vendor management and release management
- Good understanding of Project Finance Tracking
- The ability to take a leading role and to think outside the square
- You will have excellent communication and negotiation skills to work with multiple stakeholders
- Ability to prioritise and plan
- Exposure and experience with different types of technical environments and platforms
