About the role
This role supports the delivery of a two year State funded Riverbank Rehabilitation Project being delivered across flood impacted catchments between Tweed in the north and Greater Sydney in the south.
The project is supporting impacted waterways and rural landholders in two key areas,
- undertaking targeted Riverbank Rehabilitation and erosion control works and
- providing support to flood impacted landholders through the delivery of awareness raising, education, and capacity building activities.
You will work closely with key stakeholders and land managers in the Greater Sydney LLS Region to implement the on-ground delivery components of the project.
Essential requirements
- A degree in agricultural, environmental, natural resource management - and more specifically qualifications and/or equivalent experience in riverbank and riparian management.
- Advanced collaboration and teamwork skills including experience in supporting small project teams
- Proficient project management skills
- Advanced communication and community engagement skills
- Current Driver Licence and the ability and willingness to travel and perform field work such as inspections and assessments.
- Be willing to undertake regular travel within the Greater Sydney LLS region including overnight travel.
Operational Focus Activities
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with land managers, delivery partners and stakeholder groups to facilitate the delivery of the project outcomes and foster working relationships.
- Provide technical (Riverbank and riparian management) advice and support to the operational and project management teams
- Coordinate, manage and report on the implementation of Riverbank Rehabilitation works being delivered by project team, external contractors and land managers.
- Support the development of project specific educational resources and communications material.
