As Senior Legal Counsel - Public and Capital Markets, you will act as a trusted adviser and business partner in relation to investment matters, providing specialist, solutions-focused legal advice and services.
Key accountabilities will include:
- Take primary responsibility for securities lending arrangements.
- Provision of timely, accurate and commercially appropriate legal advice on investment related activities
- Provide advice and expertise on complex investment related documentation and investment structures arising from the Public and Capital Markets teams.
- Provide legal and regulatory compliance with SPS 231 for Investment Management Agreements and/or CPS 226 on Initial Margin compliance for OTC derivatives.
This role is available as a full-time, permanent opportunity.
About you
If this is the right role for you, your skills and qualifications may include:
- Tertiary qualification in Law and current unrestricted practising certificate as a Legal Practitioner in Australia.
- Extensive legal experience in a top tier law firm and/or investment bank specialising in public markets and/or Capital Markets investments.
- Robust negotiation, drafting, influencing and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work collaboratively across all levels of an organisation.
- Proven ability to provide professional, concise advice and solutions to technical, legislative, and strategic issues.
