It’s crucial that as a collective, our employees, volunteers and the general public have all the tools they need to safely and effectively manage emergency events.To learn more about the Department and what we have to offer, please visit our website or follow us on LinkedIn .About the RoleIn this role, you will undertake research into complex legal issues and prepare detailed submissions, reports and recommendations on the operation of legislation in the Minister’s portfolio and more broadly.You will also assist with strategic policy development, implementation, and monitoring to support the Department’s operations and ensure alignment with Government priorities.Our ideal candidate will have experience researching, interpreting, and developing legislation. Also, experience in developing evidence-based policy to support both legislative amendment and operations.Interpersonal and communication skills are essential to this role. You will liaise with and consult with government agencies, statutory authorities, and other stakeholders regarding matters associated with development of legislation and policy.DFES is an emergency services organisation and all employees may be required to work or travel outside of normal business hours to assist with emergencies.Where you will be basedThis position is located in Cockburn Central, easily accessible by public transport. The Department has an onsite gym, family room, and outdoor undercover courtyard and other services to support your health and wellbeing.
