- Supervising, training, and coordinating staff.
- Coordinating and participating in management of the Library collections, including acquiring, cataloguing, classifying and end-processing information resources for inclusion.
- Coordinating and participating in resource sharing practices and processes;
- Coordinating and participating in circulation and lending services.
- Assisting library clients with information and research enquiries.
- Participating in the development and training of the Library procedures.
- Participating in the development and delivery of research skills instruction and support.
- Monitoring and reporting on designated areas of responsibility including key performance indicators, usage and other statistics as required.
- Supportive of the Objects of Notre Dame as a Catholic University.
- Proven ability to promote a supportive and harmonious work environment, effectively managing interpersonal dynamics and fostering team collaboration.
- A formal qualification with relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of experience and education/training.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise staff effectively.
- Knowledge of the principles of library information services and a demonstrated ability to follow and interpret policies, procedures and standards.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the processes required to obtain scholarly information resources and to provide access to these resources.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the acquisition, processing, and management of library resources.
- Demonstrated ability to apply high level communication, customer service and interpersonal skills and interact constructively and collaboratively with staff at all levels of the organisation.
- Demonstrated ability to display initiative and reliability, assume responsibility for tasks and projects and to resolve problems.
- Demonstrated proficiency in using and promoting a range of information technology services, including the ability to apply skills required to use a range of Library related software.
