My Client, a FMCG Manufacturer are currently looking for a skilled and experienced Senior Technician & Maintenance Fitter to join their team at their state-of-the-art factory in West Melbourne. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing company who prides themselves on their excellent culture and 100% Australian made products.
The role
The role will have you undertake a variety of tasks ranging from providing technical support to assisting with machinery servicing / repairs. Working on a range on new, high speed, automated machinery.
Responsibilities:

• Assist in the day-to-day efficient running of Plant Equipment.
• Maintenance of plant and equipment inc; Preventative maintenance.
• Diagnostics and fault finding.
• Process improvement of plant and equipment.
• Pipework and valves. Process pumps. Screw and belt conveyors. Boiler and steam equipment.
• Pneumatics and hydraulics.
• Provide technical support to the production team.
• Promote and adhere to Quality, OHS, GMP and HACCP guidelines.
• In conjunction with the leadership team, continuously review systems and processes to improve key operational efficiency measures.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, upgrades, commissioning, and trials of new products.
• Training of operators and development of SOPs to improve reliability, cost effectiveness and throughput of the packing and palletising assets.
• Supervise external contractors when on site.
• Ensure compliance with site quality and food safety programs.

Experience:

• Trade Qualified Fitter & Turner with a minimum of 5-10 years maintenance experience in a similar role in FMCG maintenance.
• Hands on with an enthusiastic attitude.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Work autonomously and be a self-starter to be a part of an engaged team.
• Forklift licence is an advantage.
• Welding experience is desirable.
