Our Opportunity
Work Location: Perth. Fortescue's Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.
Roster: Monday to Friday | 5 days 2 Off | Regular site travel
As a Senior Management Accountant at Solomon mine you will play a crucial role in driving financial decision-making processes, monitoring company performance, and ensuring the effective utilization of resources in a fast paced and dynamic working environment. You will work closely with Senior Management team to provide financial insights and support as a finance business partner, contributing to the overall financial health and success of our organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Co-ordination and delivery for accurate and transparent end of month financial reports, budgets, and forecasts
- Monitor and report on key financial performance indicators, identifying trends and opportunities for business improvement
- Provide comprehensive analysis and driver-based costs analysis to support business decision
- Managing site capital project pipeline and governance procedures
- Assist in the development and implementation of internal controls and financial policies
- Streamline, automation and improvement of core finance processes and activities
- Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and Fortescue accounting policies
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CA/CPA/CIMA qualification
- 5+ years management or financial accounting experience in mining or similar industry
- Ability to interpret and identify key cost drivers to deliver insight and opportunity across all levels within Site and Corporate team
- Proficiency in accounting ERP system, Microsoft, and data analysis tools (SAP and Anaplan experience are a plus).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with cross-functional team
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
