AddressThank you for your interest in the position of Senior Management Accountant with Sydney Theatre Company.
This role delivers financial information, tools, and insight to support the STC team to make informed decisions and to drive business strategy. Responsible for the development of budgets, forecasts and variance analysis, this role will partner with the business to ensure that management are kept fully informed of the company’s financial position.
Hours of Work
The usual hours of work are 38 hours a week. However, the nature of working for a theatre company and requirements of this position require a degree of flexibility and will include evening work and occasionally weekends.
Wages and Entitlements
- Salary is dependent on skills and experience
- 4 weeks annual leave (pro-rata)
- Complimentary tickets to STC productions

Essential
- Minimum 5 years demonstrated experience in a similar position.
- CA/ CPA qualified accountant.
- A demonstrated capacity to produce clear and accurate financial management reports and acquittals.
- Knowledge and understanding of internal controls for fraud prevention.
- A high level of organisational skills and attention to detail, including a meticulous approach to undertaking, logging and reporting on tasks.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including capacity to identify potential improvements to business processes.
- A demonstrated capacity to communicate complex matters to colleagues from a range of disciplines.
- Demonstrated capacity to work proactively, collaboratively and flexibly within a team environment as well as demonstrating initiative when working alone.
- Hand on experience with accounting software such as Technology One.
- Strong skills with Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.
Desirable
- Interest in the Arts industry.
