Senior Management Accountant (Costing)

We are looking for a Senior Management Accountant (Costing) who will play a pivotal role in optimizing costs, improving profitability, and supporting strategic decision-making within LSG. 

Reporting to the Finance Director, this position will showcase a deep understanding of cost accounting principles, financial analysis, and the specific challenges of the company. This role is important in ensuring the company's financial health and competitiveness.

Key outcomes of the role include: 

• Analyzing and monitoring the cost structure of the organization while identifying cost drivers and variances and taking action
• Developing and maintaining product costing models to accurately calculate the cost of goods sold (COGS). 
• Evaluating the cost implications of new product introductions or changes in production processes.
• Monitoring and optimizing inventory levels to minimize carrying costs while ensuring product availability.
• Evaluating inventory turnover and obsolescence risks.
• Preparing financial statements, regular financial reports and presenting findings to Senior Management.
• Identifying opportunities for process improvement in cost accounting, cost management, and cost control.
• Collaborating with marketing and sales team  as well as other departments, such as operations, procurement, and supply chain, to optimize cost-related processes.
• Providing financial insights to support decision-making in these areas.
• Identifying and assessing financial risks related to cost factors and proposing risk mitigation strategies.

As the successful candidate, you will have;

• CPA/CA qualification with a degree in Accounting or similar experience preferably in the FMCG/pharmaceutical industries or alike
• Finance management experience, 3+ years in a similar role 
• Similar role in FMCG or medium to large manufacturing business is highly preferred
• Demonstrated experience within a costing environment with strong commercial acumen, analytical and business partnering skills.
• Experience operating in a multi stakeholder environment and working cross functionally
• Proven commercial acumen, analytical, conceptual, presentation and communication skills
