Global business with various business streams requires the immediate assistance of a Management Accountant in the Mining division. This role will see you based in the Brisbane CBD office and will require one week per month at site in north/west Queensland. Utilise your Mining experience in this diverse role that will encompass business partnering, month end and analysis.
The Role
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the responsibilities of the role will include,
- Cost and variance analysis to identify opportunities for cost optimisation and operational efficiencies
- Monitor KPI's related to mining operations, labour, volumes, sales etc.
- Collaborate with operational and site teams to develop and maintain budgets and forecasts
- Asset management and evaluation of CAPEX projects, financial analysis and modelling and ROI analysis
- Preparation of monthly, quarterly annual financial reports
- Month end, P&L analysis and commentary, Balance Sheet and cash flow forecasting
- Ad hoc projects, financial modelling and reporting
The successful candidate will have/be,
- Bachelors Degree in accounting, finance or related field, CA or CPA or studying towards
- Mining, Energy and Resource Industry experience essential
- Ability to travel to site in North/West QLD for one week per month (CBD office base)
- Experienced in Financial modelling, analysis and reporting (advanced Excel)
- Excellent communication and well developed business partnering skills
