- Key role in leading the Group's response to material sustainability topics - with a focus on Climate Change

- Open to candidates at either the Senior Manager or Executive Manager level
- Lead the development of Westpac Group's climate policies and action plans.
- Support implementation of our climate policies and action plans and Net-Zero Banking Alliance commitment, including developing portfolio targets and financing strategies.
- Collaborate with key business divisions and functions (Institutional Bank, Business, Consumer, Risk, Legal, Investor Relations, Government and Media relations) to provide best-in-class technical advice and guidance on Climate Change issues.
- To manage feedback and inquiries on environmental sustainability matters from customers, NGOs, investors and other stakeholders.
- Participate in relevant industry forums relating to sustainability representing Westpac.
- Contribute to our response to evolving industry Climate Change reporting frameworks and approaches, including Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures and upcoming climate disclosure legislation.
- Contribute to the development of Climate Change aspects of Westpac's Annual Report and sustainability disclosures.
- Prepare briefing material and papers on Climate Change and sustainability matters for risk committees, Executive Team and Board.
- Provide thought leadership on emerging sustainability themes, and work with business divisions and functions to develop our policy response, set out action plans, and prepare appropriate disclosure.

- Tertiary qualifications, and or extensive professional experience, in a climate, environmental, sustainability or related discipline
- A track record of delivering strategically aligned climate and sustainability outcomes
- Demonstrated expertise in leading governance activities for climate performance, reporting and decision-making processes
- Extensive knowledge of climate performance measures and familiarity with global best practices in climate and sustainability
- Understanding or experience of net zero targets and financed emissions
- Proficiency in managing multiple projects, meeting deadlines, attention to detail, and analytical thinking
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Demonstrable experience in managing complex stakeholder environments, forming strategic and trusted relationships, and influencing change
