Your new role
As the Senior Manager, Member Governance you will lead a small team responsible for maintaining and strengthening the governance and accountability arrangements of the Chief Member Officer and Chief Officer Retirement, and their respective domains.
Working closely with these executives and their leadership teams, this role will design and maintain the governance 'ecosystem' for the Member Group and contribute and lead governance initiatives such as supporting AustralianSuper's vulnerable members program initiatives and implementing the 'RAPID' decision-making tool.
You will have strong knowledge and experience in corporate governance and the superannuation regulatory framework. The ability to provide constructive challenge, oversight and advice to influence senior stakeholders is essential.
Key duties include but are not limited to:
- Provide people leadership to a team of Governance and Accountability professionals, nurture their development and support them to do their best work.
- Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders (including regulators)
- Maintain a register of governance artefacts relevant to the Member and Retirement domains and oversee a program of work to continuously review and strengthen these artefacts.
- Support the maintenance and operations of decision-making forums and models.
- Support the implementation of the Financial Accountability Regime, including maintaining executive 'accountability statements and cascading accountabilities through the Member and Retirement domains' senior leadership teams.
- Lead the scoping, assessment and ongoing review of 'reasonable steps' to support the Chief Member Officer and Chief Officer Retirement in discharging their accountabilities under the Financial Accountability Regime
- Lead reporting activity to produce insightful and impactful reporting to relevant board and management forums to support risk-informed decision making.
What you'll need
- 8 years+ experience in risk, compliance and governance in financial services or other highly regulated environment
- Corporate governance experience essential
- Strong leadership and mentoring experience
- Confidence working with closely with senior executives.
- Ability to understand and translate corporate policy and regulatory requirements.
- Sophisticated written and oral communication/interpersonal skills
- Ability to provide constructive challenge, oversight and advice and to influence senior stakeholders.
