The Insights team provide timely analysis and insights which empower our staff, customers and partners to make informed decisions. The team also plays an important role in building and supporting the profile of Rural Bank in partnership with the engagement team and our front-line commodity experts.

About the role:

Newly created role in Business and Agri Banking division for Industry Affairs!

The Senior Manager Industry Affairs is crucial for the Bank's brand strength and business narrative, providing advocacy, involvement, and leadership in government, industry, and the community. The role will require to anticipate strategic issues, advocate for the Bank's interests, and engage with key stakeholders.

 

The role involves using Insights team's economic and agricultural market information to inform the bank, customers, and stakeholders about the sector's outlook, helping the bank achieve its vision and financial targets through insightful data and analysis.

 

 

We are seeking someone with the desired skills and experience for the role:

  • Develop and maintain key relationships with State and Federal Governments to grow the support programs capability we can offer. 
  • Communicate economic analysis, interpretation, and explanation, made available to the bank’s staff, customers and stakeholders.
  • Lead the planning, development and implementation of a proactive government relations program that engages effectively and is linked to our strategies. 
  • Develop a platform to establish an authoritative voice in national and local media on economic and agricultural issues affecting regional and rural Australia.
  • Facilitate and/or participate within relevant working groups on material sustainability topics e.g. Climate and Nature, Modern Slavery 
  • Providing regular market and industry insights to stakeholders and customers, as well as researching and suggesting new information product enhancements based on market and customer data.

 

This is a full-time position, based in Melbourne, Bendigo, Adelaide. Hybrid ways of working are core to how we operate today with a minimum 3 days working from an office. Flexible work options are also available.

 

To be successful you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in banking and finance, research and government relations
  • Strong agricultural experience. 
  • Extensive experience in dealing with media and maintaining external stakeholder relationships. 
  • Previous sales and operational excellence experience 
  • Working collaboratively with senior stakeholders across the business.
