We are looking for a certain someone who has an engineering background, not concerned about which discipline but understands mechatronics and process management. Your primary role is as overall supervisor of everything that happens within Operations, whilst not directly hands on for most. You have reporting to you a qualified electrical engineer and tech specialist to do the hands on part, but you need to come up to speed quickly with the product, its functionality and explore areas to improve the efficiency and cost of the machines. As such your transcend across:
- Project management of all aspects of contract manufacture to commissioning and installation
- Product enhancements and product development
- Ongoing contract manufacturer management

About the role
Reporting to the CEO, you are a hands-on and commercially focused professional with the ability to lead and develop a small capable team. You will have an Electrical and Controls System Engineer, as well as our IT and Software Manager report to you.
This role would suit an engineer with project management experience. Who has a holistic view of product development, projects, operations and production, and understands the technology and technology tools. You will have worked in a medium to large business, but must understand the dynamics of a smaller business and/or had professional experience, and are keen to lend your expertise to support an already successful company in creating the structure to transform into a larger agile and sustainable business.
Key responsibilities:
- Leading the continuous improvement and redesign of the various WasteMaster models to enhance robustness and performance while also reducing production costs,
- Liaising with and managing third party design and manufacturing relationships from technical, project management, quality, and commercial perspectives
- Dealing with and managing third party contractor/manufacturing relationships
- Overseeing the development of the WasteMaster Portal for the maintenance, management and reporting of the global fleet (circa 100 machines)
- Improving the automation capability of the WasteMaster to reduce remote and on-site intervention,
- The role will require some international travel in managing third party manufacturers,
