The Opportunity
Reporting to the Director of Project Services within the Organisational Enablement Business Unit, the Senior Manager, Project Management Office (PMO) plays a vital role in supporting the delivery of the Agency's strategic program of work.
Key Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
* Strategic project portfolio governance, Project Management capability enhancement, project pipeline management and evaluation, program risk management, stakeholder management, and leadership within the PMO team.
* Maintaining and developing Project Management methodologies, ensuring governance and principles are applied, aligning strategic projects with Agency policies, providing guidance and support on Project Management, and reporting on strategic projects to senior leadership and the Board.
* Manage the projects register that details in-flight projects and projects pending commencement and assist in the creation of regular updates to leadership and governance groups.
* Develop criteria and scope of undertaking post implementation project reviews and facilitate these reviews to identify lessons learnt and areas for improvement.
* Assist in the identification and reporting of risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies within and between specific projects.
* Build strong relationships with key project personnel and critical functions within the Agency (such as Technology, PC&I, Finance) and individual project teams.
* Management of a team of PMO Analysts.
About You
We are looking for someone who has experience working in a PMO environment, preferably within an investment fund management or financial services sectors. Candidates should have strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to enable project delivery as well as provide project governance and oversight.
You should have formal Project Management qualifications to practitioner level (PMBOK, PRINCE2, PMP, Agile/Scrum or similar methodologies) and a tertiary degree in Business, Finance, Management, Law, or a related field for a pivotal role within our team.
The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in documenting and updating business processes, conducting business and project analysis, and initiating new projects while resolving associated issues. Additionally, they should excel in crafting high-standard management reports, demonstrating strong organisational skills, and effectively operating within budgets and timelines. The ability to foster collaboration, share knowledge, and build meaningful relationships across various stakeholders, alongside a strategic mindset, meticulous attention to detail, and the capability to work autonomously and under pressure, are highly valued attributes for this position.
