About the opportunity:
As the Senior Manager - Research and Workforce Planning, you will hold a pivotal role in shaping complex data into logical narratives. You’ll be empowered to lead core research functions through meticulous design, delivery, and ongoing review of industry intelligence through data-driven research. This valuable information will provide accurate and transparent insights into workforce trends and skills requirements across the Energy, Gas, and Renewables sectors.

This role will offer virtual/work from home arrangements with travel throughout Australia required at times.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting thorough research and data analysis to gather industry-specific insights.
- Acting as the industry expert in research and data analysis, supporting interactions with stakeholders.
- Simplifying complex messages to support the achievement of clean energy targets.
- Advising and engaging with industry to gather insights on workforce gaps and talent pipelines.
- Utilising various research methodologies and data sources to provide clear and concise findings.
- Developing new approaches for an Energy workforce of the future, based on evidence.
This role will see you utilising comprehensive Research & data analysis to enable informed decisions that align with the organisations key strategies, as well as contributing to the future prosperity of skills and training in the energy industry. You will be a strategic thinker and quickly develop a understanding of the energy sector landscape. Key criteria required to be successful in this role include:
- Proven experience translating complex data sets into clear and logical story-telling to a range of target audiences
- Demonstrated qualifications or extensive experience in relevant fields (e.g. Data Analytics, Economics, Research, Workforce planning or a related discipline)
- Proven experience in conducting research, data analysis into actionable insights, with a focus on Workforce Planning
- Proficiency in workforce data sources, data visualisation tools and/or research software
- Demonstrated desire for staying abreast of energy industry trends, advancements and their implications on the skills and workforce sector
- Excellent communication skills with previous experience presenting to large audiences
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and lead team members in tasks and strategy.
