Senior Manager - Risk, Safety & Wellbeing

About the role

Cire is seeking a strategic manager to lead the Risk, Safety and Wellbeing function.

The primary purpose of this position is to grow the safety culture to achieve leading H&S performance and effectively execute strategy to elevate safety performance to the highest possible standard.

Reporting directly into the COO, the Senior Manager, Risk, Safety and Wellbeing will provide expert strategic guidance, leadership and coaching to grow line managers and staff to create a workplace free of recognised hazards, promote safe work behaviours, and foster a culture that keeps the safety of employees a key business value.

You will also be accountable for:

  • developing and enhancing the enterprise risk management, safety and psychosocial risk frameworks.
  • growing and embedding a physically and psychologically safe culture that supports our organisational vision and values.
  • engaging across all levels of the organisation towards helping all stakeholders to understand their duties and responsibilities.
  • Building key performance indicator reporting mechanisms that support accountability, whilst also tying into reward/recognition programs.
  • aligning business activities with legislative requirements to support regulatory compliance and best practice continuous improvement.

About you

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications, preferably in OHS, risk management, injury management, wellbeing, psychology, HR or a related field.
  • Expert knowledge and at least 5 years' successful experience in Safety, risk management, incident management
  • Experience in creating and executing innovative risk, safety and wellness programs that foster physically and psychologically healthy workplace environments.
  • Excellent knowledge and proven experience with AS/NZS/ISO45001 (2018) and ISO45003 (2021).
  • Exposure to AS/NZS ISO 31000:2018 Risk Management and application into broader enterprise risk management frameworks will be highly regarded.
  • Good knowledge of OHS legislation, Officer Due Diligence and best practice governance and assurance practices.
  • You are an influential change agent, confident with presentations and training, articulate with professional reports and briefing papers, whilst autonomous in understanding emerging needs of the business.
  • Strong Leadership and Business Acumen.
