Let’s talk about the role
Reporting to the Head of Tax you will primarily be responsible for managing the tax operations function of the Latitude Group across our operations in Australia and New Zealand and in our expanding operations in Southeast Asia and Canada.
The tax operations function encompasses direct taxes/income taxes as well as indirect taxes such as GST, Fringe Benefits Tax, and various State duties. The position also covers tax planning and advisory opportunities.
You will make an impact by applying your technical experience in domestic and international corporate tax to identify opportunities and solve problems. You are the type of person who thrives on developing and executing initiatives that balances both commercial business and tax outcomes.
With growth at the forefront of our minds this role will also see you provide tax input into areas such as funding for international growth, local and foreign tax credit planning, transfer pricing and foreign currency exchange issues.
Transformation, simplification and automation are at the forefront of our Finance and Risk business unit at Latitude and the ability to lead these initiatives for the tax function leveraging industry best practice will be critical as the Group continues to expand.
Who we’re after
Ideally you will have experience in both domestic and international tax compliance as well as a strong understanding of tax effect accounting. We’re looking for someone who has significant taxation experience at a senior level within a corporate group (ideally Financial Services) or have been a senior external adviser to such an organisation (e.g., big 4 accounting firm or a top-tier law firm).
You’ll also have:
- Deep knowledge across all aspects of Australian and New Zealand tax rules including a high level of understanding of tax planning, legislation, and regulation for both corporate entities and securitised funding structures;
- A SME in understanding taxation risk and regulatory requirements;
- Experienced Leader in building & leading successful teams whilst driving a transformation and automation agenda;
- Proven track record in serving as a trusted partner to the Senior leadership team, relevant stakeholders and partnering organisations;
- Ability to articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences
