Form of workOur company Asiga is an internationally recognised designer and manufacturer of 3D printers. We are seeking an energetic, confident and detailed Mechanical Design Engineer to join our growing business in Alexandria, Sydney.
As Mechanical Design Engineer you will work alongside our talented team of electronics, mechanical, chemical and software engineers to develop new 3D printing technologies and products for market. The responsibilities of this role include:
- Architect complex electro-mechanical systems from concept to finished product
- Independently lead new product designs from sketches to 3D CAD and production drawings
- Provide post production support
- Review existing designs
- Coordinate with electronics design and development
- Coordinate with application software design and development
- Assist with integration and validation of new hardware
The successful candidate should have:
- Proven excellence in mechanical Design Engineering
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Experience in hands-on development and troubleshooting of electro-mechanical systems
- Extensive experience in 3D CAD design
- An intuitive knack for designing simple, robust and manufacturable electro-mechanical systems
- A desire to create novel products
- An interest in designing 3D printers
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience with designing components for injection moulding
- Strong documentation and writing skills
- Strong interpersonal skills for working in a team environment
Our company is located 500m from Green Square railway station in Alexandria in a modern office and manufacturing facility. Applicants must be fluent in English and able to work in Australia. Visa sponsorship will be considered for talented overseas candidates.
