Form of workSenior Mechanical Design Engineer
An international company that has over 30 years experience of mining experience and has a rich history within the Newcastle Region is seeking a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to take hold and lead from the front and ensuring design standards are held at a high regard for your customer's needs.
The Senior Mechanical Engineers role will be required but not limited to:
- Provide engineering solutions, to the design and development of new products and problem solving.
- Perform Mechanical Designs using 3D CAD modelling and FEA applications.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders regularly and ensuring a healthy relationship.
- Lead design review meetings, including preparation of presentation material and provision of meeting agendas and minutes.
- Develop and maintain project schedules based on project scope of work and key milestones.
- Review project costs and schedule against contracted deliverables and budgets and provide status reports and forecasting.
- Develop technical specifications for outsourcing of specialised engineering and manufacturing services.
- Perfom site inspections and complete condition reports
- Follow applicable Quality Operating and assurance Procedures.
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
- At least 8 + years of engineering experience
- Experience with Mechanical Engineering Designs and standards
- Experience in 3D Modelling using Autodesk Inventor and Vault
- Strong Communication skills with the ability to liaise with internal and external customers written and verbal.
- Experience in the heavy industry in Australia is a must.
- Background working with mobile equipment.
