Senior Mechanical Engineer

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer who embodies the spirit of old-school engineering. In this role, you will be a crucial part of our clients engineering team, responsible for researching, analyzing, and implementing mechanical systems with a focus on time-tested methodologies. Your expertise will be pivotal in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of their products, embracing the traditions of Mechanical Engineering while incorporating innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Specification and commissioning of new process equipment.
• Lead the experimental work on pilot and production scale equipment. Demonstrating sound problem-solving ability and hands-on approach to develop fundamental process knowledge.
• Deliver presentations and make recommendations to the R&D Senior Leadership team based on strong scientific experimentation and data analysis
• Develop structures and mechanisms to solve customer challenges, and see these elements through build, test, integration and operation.
• Collaborate effectively with manufacturing personnel, vendors, and suppliers to build understanding of opportunity areas to help drive insights to accelerate projects.
• Conduct technology scans and gather industry insights to progress our foundational knowledge in our key technology areas.
• Apply highly specialized knowledge of engineering principles and practices specifically to lead the creation and development of new machinery designs from prototype to production considering application, cost, performance, reliability, durability, manufacturing, assembly and serviceability.
• Coach and Mentor junior engineers and scientists sharing expertise and information with others

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on traditional methodologies.
• Proficiency in CAD software for designing and drafting is beneficial but will not be an integral part of the role (ideally Inventor).
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to conduct engineering calculations manually when necessary.
• Proven track record of successful project management and execution.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• A passion for preserving the art and craftsmanship of old-school Mechanical Engineering.
