We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical (Rotating Equipment) Engineer for an Owners team vacancy working on multiple Green Energy/Renewables projects. Perth based role, 40-hour week, competitive daily rate, 12-month contract.
Reporting into the Lead Mechanical (RE) Engineer you will be accountable for the design and technical assurance of the mechanical design of hydrogen/ammonia generation and transmission facilities and provide Mechanical Engineering support (not limited to Rotating Equipment) to a portfolio of projects predominantly in the scoping, pre-feasibility and FEED phases
Your Responsibilities:
- Perform mechanical Rotating Equipment activities during scoping, feasibility, FEED and detailed design phases.
- Provide mechanical rotating engineering support to a portfolio of projects.
- Act as an overall mechanical focal point on scoping, feasibility and FEED project phases including management of static, piping and pipeline inputs.
- Originate, review and approve mechanical deliverables such as datasheets, specifications, equipment list, requisitions, TBE’s, etc
- Participate in contract, equipment tender and technology evaluations.
- Ensure work undertaken internally or by the contractor or vendor meets the project expectations on safety, quality and technical compliance based on the Australian Standards, International Standards, Fortescue Statement of Requirement, and Industry best practices.
- Participate in specific detail design reviews (model reviews) and evaluations including technical safety reviews of design, HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, QRA, risk analysis.
- Bachelor's degree of Mechanical Engineering.
- 10+ years' experience working in a project setting from feasibility studies through to start-up with proven competency in scoping studies, pre-feasibility, FEED, and detailed design.
- Experience in overseeing contractor/consultant activities in delivering large projects.
- Experience in mechanical equipment including rotating, static and packaged equipment.
- Knowledge of Australian and international codes, standards and industry specifications
- Industry experience in industrial chemical processing, oil and gas processing, hydrogen, ammonia, e-SAF, and projects involving renewable energy would be beneficial
