The Bedeschi Project Engineering team delivers, with the assistance of Europe based engineering resources, the development and completion of engineering and engineering deliverables through study and execution project phases. It also provides support through manufacturing, transport, pre-assembly, offsite commissioning, onsite final assembly, and onsite commissioning. As the business grows in Australia, we require a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer to join our team.

As Bedeschi expands its business in Australia an opportunity exists for a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer to engage in both Project and Mechanical Engineering activities and demonstrate to our customers that Bedeschi is the future of bulk materials handling equipment in Australia.

Qualifications & experience
· Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering
· Minimum of 7 year's experience in in the Mining Industry (Mining Bulk Materials Handling Equipment OEM preferred).
· Exceptional customer service skills.
· Able to confidently complete mechanical calculations and familiarity with conveyor design requirements.
· Strong verbal and written communication.
· Strong attention to detail.
Job Purpose
To Develop, implement, supervise, and coordinate all engineering work for a project in terms of technical quality, safety, cost, and time in compliance with the Engineering Management Plan. And deliver mechanical and piping engineering as well as coordinating the delivery of mechanical and piping design and drafting in compliance with relevant standards and specifications, in accordance with time and cost requirements.
Tasks and Responsibilities
· Overall Engineering Schedule owner. Develops schedule with support of Engineering and Design discipline leads.
· Overall Engineering Budget owner. Develops and splits overall engineering budget with support of Engineering and Design discipline leads.
· Monitors the efficiency of activities by analyzing earned value against actual hours.
· Mechanical engineer for the project, responsible for mechanical and piping engineering, design and drafting as required.
· Plan and coordinate the execution mechanical and piping engineering and design activities as required.
· Ensures compliance with the engineering change management procedure. Communicates the engineering trend register with the PM and CPM on a regular basis.
· Develops and implements the Engineering Management Plan.
· Ensures the implementation of all QA/QC processes as required by Bedeschi, the Customer and as detailed in the EMP.
· Develops the Basis of Design and Design Criteria.
· Acquires and distributes all relevant elements required for the development of the design, such as contracts and technical specifications.
· Primary technical contact for the Customer and attends client progress meetings.
· Responsible for ensuring the works are executed in compliance with all contractual and legal safety in design requirements, and recording the activities, decisions and actions completed in relation to safety in design. Responsible for arranging Safety in Design related workshops, as well as design and maintainability review.
· Implements weight monitoring and management processes.
· Facilitates resolution of engineering issues.
· Final approver of engineering deliverables.
· Reviews TQ's from discipline leads and submits Technical Queries to the customer.
· Develops maintenance and change-out methodology's, with the assistance of discipline engineers and designers.
· Coordinates the discipline engineer reviews of scopes of work and technical specifications developed by the Package Engineer for purchased equipment. Also provides technical input into the mechanical and piping equipment scopes of work and technical specifications.
· Completes technical tender reviews for mechanical, structural and piping equipment.
