Elizabeth Family Health Care is seeking a well-seasoned Senior Medical Receptionist to join our wonderful General Practice in a permanent position based in the Northern suburbs of Adelaide. Established in 2010, we were a family-owned group, proud of our excellent reputation as a team who genuinely cares about our patients, practising high-quality care based on the best evidence. 

About the Position

An opportunity has become available for a Senior Medical Receptionist to join our friendly, supportive and experienced team at Elizabeth Family Health Care in a part-time role. We are looking for someone who can think laterally and has the ability to work both independently when required and cohesively within a team environment. The successful candidate will need to be highly motivated with a sound background in customer service and be able to adapt to an ever-changing environment and industry. Proficient computer skills are essential with a knowledge of medical software including Best Practice desirable.  

This will be a challenging and stimulating position but also very rewarding.

Daily tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Excellent customer service – you will be the first point of contact for our patients, in person and on the phone.
  • Maintaining confidentiality while managing patient records.
  • Processing payments, Medicare and third-party claims and reconciliations
  • Effective management of patient appointment types
  • General administration and daily office duties
  • Duties as required by Doctors and the Practice Manager

  • Ability to work under pressure, multi-task, and prioritise
  • Excellent communication skills – written and verbal
  • High level of computer literacy
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a diverse team and independently
  • High level attention to detail.
  • Previous Medical Reception experience would be an advantage however not essential
  • Enthusiasm, willingness, and ability to learn and retain information
