What You Will Be Doing
Peninsula Health currently has an opportunity for an experienced and person centred General Practitioner with experience in providing alcohol and drug treatment. This position is responsible for providing medical assessment and access to treatment programs for Drug and Alcohol dependant people.
The successful position holder will work within a multidisciplinary team to provide drug and alcohol treatment to patients accessing the Opioid Agonist Treatment Program.
What You Need
We anticipate you will have:
• Medical Practitioner Registered in Australia
• Fellowship of The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners or (equivalent)
• Relevant specialist experience with track record and experience in clinical management of substance use disorders.
• Sound clinical knowledge, skills and experience in contemporary medical and evidence based practice.
• Ability to work as an effective member of a team environment.
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Authorised to prescribe methadone and buprenorphine based opioid agonist therapy for more than ten patients.

Specialists Enterprise Agreement 2022-2026 for salary range. Sub-grading will be based on years of experience.
