On behalf of our client in Western NSW, we are seeking a passionate Senior Mental Health Clinician to join a multidisciplinary team in Child & Adolescent Mental Health. We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior CAMHS clinician to provide community-based consultation, assessment and treatment to children and young people (to the age of 18) experiencing serious Mental Health disorders.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing specialist comprehensive, Mental Healthcare services that aims to improve the Mental Health and well-being of children and adolescents
- Covering community-based consultation, assessment and treatment to children and young people (to the age of 18) experiencing serious Mental Health disorders
- Practice autonomously within a multidisciplinary team and practice under an integrated framework with a focus on recovery-oriented practice and person-centred care
- Deliver high level clinical services and demonstrate specialist knowledge, skills and experience relevant to the evidence-based assessment, diagnosis and treatment of young people experiencing serious and/or complex Mental Health issues
- Demonstrate clinical leadership in the advocacy for the Mental Health needs of service consumers and their carers and relevant agencies within the Mental Health team
- Apply independent professional judgement, based on valid and reliable evidence in a consultation, liaison and clinical in-reach model
- Provide practice supervision, training and support to staff as well as training and supervision to students as delegated by the Team Leader and or Professional Senior
- Lead quality activities and/or research to improve or contribute to the evidence base and strategies for continuously improving Mental Health practice
- Bachelor Qualification or higher in Social Work and AASW registration
- Prior experience within a Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (NSW Health/QLD Health/VIC Health or similar)
- Demonstrated ability to provide leadership in a multidisciplinary environment and demonstrate sound knowledge of contemporary Mental Health practice and theory
- Demonstrated ability in the application of highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated experience in working effectively with individuals, groups and as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team
- Demonstrated experience in the area of negotiation, consultation, liaison and conflict resolution skills
