Reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent, you will be responsible for driving safe and efficient mining practices from budget to the life of the mine. Your role will involve developing comprehensive mine designs, schedules, and plans that align with our operational goals. Your ability to communicate findings, recommendations, and optimised plans will be pivotal in achieving operational excellence.
About the Role
- Providing leadership and being a role model for safety on site.
- Mentoring and leading a team of engineers.
- Producing drilling and blasting designs that promote the safe and efficient mining of waste and coal.
- Providing expertise and oversight to optimise site blasting processes.
- Maintaining a quality control process for all drill and blast activities.
- Designing and analysing blasting performance throughout the mining cycle.
- Adhoc project work relating to drill and blast.
- Liaising with various stakeholders regarding drill and blast matters.
Roster and Location
- Monday to Friday professional roster
- Based on site at HVO (off Lemington Road)
About You
- Formal qualifications in Mining Engineering or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in mining operations, with a focus on mine design, scheduling, and strategic planning.
- Proficiency in mine planning software (Vulcan, Deswik) and scheduling tools (SPRY, Deswik).
- Excellent communication skills to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills to assess opportunities and risks, and the ability to develop actionable insights.
- Proven track record of collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
