Are you passionate about agriculture and looking for a diverse role in a family-owned and operated enterprise? Our client near Clermont, QLD, is seeking an experienced Mixed Farm Hand to join their team. This role offers a unique blend of responsibilities, with approximately 80% of your time dedicated to farming activities and 20% focused on livestock. You'll work across various properties, including a small feedlot, farming enterprises, and grazing areas, providing an exciting variety of tasks each day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operation of farming machinery from land preparation, planting and spraying to harvesting with header
- Operating machinery for property maintenance, such as roads, contour banks, and fence lines
- Carting grain in trucks to local grain depo
- Conducting general farm machinery maintenance and repairs
- Performing fencing and water maintenance and repairs
- Mustering on two-wheel motorbikes, including yard process, drafting, branding, weaning
- Managing induction processes and weighing for feedlot operations
- Operating tractor and feeder wagon for feedlot
Skills and Attributes:
- Current driver's license & MC Truck license preferred or willing to obtain/upgrade
- Previous experience in cropping and livestock farming operations
- Proficiency in low-stress livestock handling methods
- Ability to operate farming machinery like tractors, ploughs, planters, self-propelled spray rigs, harvester & chaser bin
- Welding and mechanical skills are highly regarded
- Good machinery knowledge & experience
- Clean and tidy work habits both on the farm and on the homestead
- Trustworthy, reliable, and committed to a long-term career in agriculture
- Genuine passion for the agricultural industry
