THE ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
Senior Network Engineer position responsible for the support, management, and improvement of the organisations critical network infrastructure (both projects & BAU).
It is a technical lead role that has a career path towards an Infrastructure Manager role over time.
Due to the nature of the role, 5 days in office is required (free parking available).
Responsibilities include:
- Support, administer, implement, and improve the enterprise network environment.
- Provide Level 2/3 technical support for network infrastructure (routers, switchers, firewalls, Voice, Wi-Fi etc).
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical network issues.
- Support & manage the CCTV network.
- Provide technical leadership relating to network management and performance improvement.
- BAU support and the delivery of complex network projects.
- Prepare and update documentation.
- Career path towards Infrastructure Manager role over time which will involve overseeing a small team, business engagement etc.
Upcoming projects:
- Core switch upgrade (Cisco)
- Firewall replacement (Palo Alto)
- DC collocation migration to Azure
- WAN upgrade to Dark Fiber
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / BACKGROUND / KNOWLEDGE
Suitable for a Senior/Lead Network Engineer with a generalist skillset and a background managing and improving complex enterprise networks.
Ideal for someone with people skills looking to progress into a technical management and/or Infrastructure Manager role overtime.
The following is required:
- Proven experience as a Senior/Lead Network Engineer supporting complex enterprise networks, including project delivery.
- Generalist skillset able to support, configure, troubleshoot, and implement Cisco routers/ switches/firewalls, Voice, WIFI.
- Strong networking knowledge (e.g. WAN, LAN, VPN, etc)
- Public cloud networking experience is beneficial.
- Knowledge of Windows Server, VMware, SAN storage.
- Display logical problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Team player with a strong sense of ownership & accountability + capable of taking the initiative is essential.
- Clear communication skills capable of delivering complex IT concepts into easy-to-understand language.
- CCNA/CCNP certifications.
- Ability to be onsite 5 days/week - free parking available.
- Full unrestricted Australian working rights (to be eligible to obtain background checks)
This is a full-time permanent in office role offering circa $140,000 - $150,000 (plus super) - depending on experience.
